Connect with your own local body of water

My statue to Mananaanim, the goddess of the waters

This Spring I became aware again of the powerful presence of a female spirit connected with the Firth of Forth close to where I live. The Firth of Forth is a large river with deep shipping channels. Therefore it acts like a fjord for larger vessels such as tankers and cruise ships to sail up. The Forth Estuary lies within an ancient landscape with many prehistoric and early Christian sites situated close to its banks. Moreover I heard the sea bed is not flat but contains peaks of previous mountains! Since taking up social rowing on it I have become more mindful of its powerful energetic imprint in the landscape.

Knowing that Fay Johnston a plant medicine woman lives nearby, I approached her with an idea. Why don’t we start regularly connecting in spirit to the river, with the intention of decreasing the pollution it contains? There is strength in doing things with others, and luckily she was interested.

The Natural Environment of the Firth of Forth

Like many others I spend a few hours every so often helping to clear plastic and disposable nappies and tampons from its beaches. I also know that various local projects are monitoring the pollution and working towards its regeneration. Sea grass is growing, a powerful carbon capture agent. I row with a dolphin that often plays with the oars, and we see porpoises and seals from time to time too, Curlews and other bird sound in the early evening and are joy to listen to. Yet imagine it teaming with life, with a bounty of plants to feed the fishes and the predator dolphins and sharks!

The Power of Intent and Sound

All things are possible if we use the strength of our minds to set the intent. So one day, during a Biofield Study group meeting, I shared my idea of trying to help the river return to its full glory by the power of prayer and meditation. One of the organisers of the group shared that she had participated in something similar many years ago. Apparently the pH changed after their songs and prayers. She recommended using chants too. Since I use toning at times with my Biofield Tuning clients I decided to adopt the sound technique in this healing work too.

A Vital Listening Period

Through a series of practice sessions alone and together I learnt a bit more about the protocol. I feel we have to first invite the elementals in to assist and state our intent. Then a period of listening should follow. Only after these two steps can we being the actual active part of the prayer, when we direct our intent. It takes patience for me to hear any message from the water.  There may be an image, a feeling or a bodily sensation. It is very like when I listen to how I feel when tuning a client, as my biofield can interact with the clients and exchange information. Like trees, water is sentient and can sense our loving intent.

Mananaanim

I took some water from the river and placed it in a bottle close to the statue in the photo you can see above.  I bought this statue when I moved into the house, and realised I could name her Mananaanim. The ending of “im” is a female derivative in Hebrew I read, and the first part is the name of a traditional god of the sea here. It make a lovely lilting chant to sing slowly over and over when making your connection. To avoid going into the garden on cold, wet, or windy days, I also placed a container of water on my meditation table so I did not have to go into the garden

Transmuting the Toxicity

Once I feel a connection has been made, I then start the chant and send her love from my heart chakra, imagining the love to transmute the river into its original pristine condition.  The procedure follows a pattern I would use when tuning  a client, and so I also use my tuning forks to clear the river and harmonise it. Finally of course, remember to thank the invisible beings for their collaboration.

Each session with the river is different, and it is a journey that is personal. I encourage you to try it yourself on your own local body of water. It can do no harm and it can even do a lot of good! In my case, I created a spiral of small crystal stones on front of my statue. I had collected to stones from the local shoreline. Then I connected in earnest with the water, A few days later I read a message on FB saying how a local sailing boat crew had spotted a pod of 12 dolphins swimming! This was an extremely rare sighting. I don’t think it is pure coincidence. It was for me a sign to continue the work! Furthermore I dowse the phD before and after the session and it always reads more positively.

When you set the intent to cleanse the water you need to really believe it is working. It is this power of the mind that is the instigator of the action.
