Ancient Ireland’s Sites
August 19, 2017 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
€25Saturday 19th August
Start by visiting a beautiful turlough set in a nature reserve before driving a short distance to Ballinastaig, a settlement that has been used since ancient times. Visit an enchanting “fairy fort” that had been inhabited for many centuries. It has some unusual stone features. Move across another turlough bed adorned with Burren flora and clamber across limestone pavements to an ancient dolmen. This is part of a larger complex of structures now collapsed. Here you can learn to dowse/divine ley lines that traverse the site. Explore with the use of tuning forks that Jackie will demonstrate how to tone at the site, and test the effects of using sound by dowsing afterwards! Ancient cultures may well have used sound as part of their ceremonies. We can discuss our findings.
Includes picnic made with local produce from Burren Food Trail. Part of Heritage Week Ireland. Concessions and family prices available. Contact us for details.
