County Clare contains my favourite landscapes of Ireland. Set against the Wild Atlantic Way in the west of Ireland, it is full of myths that are echoed in its landscapes’ Here I present a visual overview of the legendary landscapes of Clare. This becomes even more interesting as we start to see themes and connecting threads between other places worldwide. This is a two hour visual presentation on the many places that colour the legendary landscapes of Clare. I welcome feedback and storytelling in the last section so we can all be enrichened further by the stories held in the memory of this magical land. I follow a spiral route around mainly the Burren, with some peripheral places also mentioned. The route ends on Slieve Na Glasha with the longest legend extant in Clare, with its many references to local place names.
This talk was very well received at Kilshanny House in Clare in Autumn 2015 and is due to be rolled out in local libraries around the county early in 2016.
